1. Who we are

Guurnet is the leading Somali dating and social platform. Guurnet is owned by If Media Inc., Alberta, Canada. We help Somali singles connect for meaningful relationships while respecting culture and faith.

2. Information we collect

2.1 When you create an account

• Name, email, password, gender, date of birth, and location
• Optional profile details such as interests, education, and a short bio
• IP address, device data, and log data for security and fraud prevention
• Phone number if you choose SMS verification

You can view and update most profile fields at any time in your Profile or Settings.

2.2 Age requirements

You must be 18 or older or the age of majority in your country if higher. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage person created an account, we will delete the account and related data that we hold. We may retain an email and IP record to help prevent repeat registration.

2.3 Visitors who do not register

We do not collect personal information from visitors who browse without logging in. We may set a session cookie to keep the site working during your visit.

2.4 Content you share

Guurnet is a social platform. Anything you post can be visible to others based on your settings. Do not post sensitive details such as full name, phone number, home address, payment details, or government IDs. Use care when sharing photos and videos. These may reveal sensitive information.

2.5 Mobile and location

If you use our mobile app or allow location features, we may collect approximate location and signals from Wi-Fi access points to show nearby content. You can turn off location access in your device settings.

2.6 Premium services and payments

When you purchase a paid feature, our payment providers process your payment details. We do not store full payment card numbers on Guurnet servers. We keep basic transaction data for receipts, support, and fraud prevention.

Guurnet is for adults only. Do not use the service if you are under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
